METALS

WHY MAKE RECYCLED GOLD JEWELLERY?

Today, with the depletion of raw material resources and the contamination of soils due to the extraction of precious metals,

it is important to think about the future of our children and the planet we will leave them. By using materials that are part of

the gold reserves that are already being replenished, we will not encourage the search for new deposits and the extraction

of minerals with harmful environmental consequences.

ORIGIN

WE TELL YOU MORE ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF THE MATERIALS USED TO MAKE OUR JEWELLERY

The precious metals used in the creation of the jewelry produced in our workshop are derived from recycled materials. Old coins with no historical value due to damage (such as Napoleons, Swiss Francs, and Sovereigns) and broken jewelry are recovered and refined to restore their absolute purity. They are then alloyed with other metals to create different colored alloys.

THE ALLOYS

THE DIFFERENT GOLD ALLOYS

750/1000 gold is an alloy of 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals such as silver, copper, etc. Alloying gold with other metals gives it technical qualities that gold does not naturally possess, such as rigidity and strength. This percentage of gold in the alloy is also known as 18-karat gold.

THE DIFFERENT ALLOYS OFFERED

Yellow Gold 750: 75% fine gold, silver and copper

Champagne Gold 750: 75% fine gold, silver and copper (only in a certain range)

Rose Gold 750: 75% fine gold, silver and copper

White Gold 750: 75% fine gold, nickel, zinc, copper.

750 Palladium White Gold: 75% pure gold, palladium, silver, copper

Note about white gold: It is common practice to rhodium-plate white gold, giving it a bright, white appearance. This surface treatment, like all metal plating, involves the use of polluting chemicals, which we do not wish to encourage. Therefore, our jewelry does not undergo rhodium plating. Our white gold is a slightly off-white color (the second ring from the bottom in the photo).

LES ALLIAGES LES ALLIAGES D'OR, CEUX LÀ QUI DÉFINISSENT LA COULEUR DE L’OR DE VOS BIJOUX L’or 750 millièmes est un alliage de 750 parties d’or fin et de 250 parties d’autres métaux comme l’argent, le cuivre, etc.)

HALLMARKS

Hallmarks, a mark that protect you

The hallmark is a tool used to mark jewellery and objects in order to certify the content of precious materials in different metals. It is the title hallmark. The company that produced the piece apply its master stamp.

In France, the State apply its title mark to jewellery weighing more than 3g for gold or 30g for silver. The hallmark for gold 750 (or 18 carats) is an eagle head. For small items (for example a 10g ring in solid silver), a 925 hallmark is frequently applied, but it does not constitute a state guarantee. The manufacturer or importer is obliged to apply his "master" hallmark.

The multiplication of hallmarks inspired by different symbols such as animals, flowers, parts of the body, bird heads, etc. has imposed the creation of a nomenclature as complete as possible of the numerous symbols used over the centuries.
